Florian Weidinger
Chief Executive Officer
Prior to joining SLAM, Florian served as the CEO and CIO of Hansabay Pte Ltd, a Singapore based investment management business with a focus on emerging and frontier economies. Hansabay specialised in activist engagement and special situation investing and was an early signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investment in Singapore. Before founding Hansabay Pte Ltd, Florian was a vice president at Lehman Brothers where he last worked for the insolvency administration, after several years with the risk arbitrage, principal investing and investment banking divisions in London. Florian sourced, managed and executed public and private investments in Europe, Africa and foremost Asia, and across the capital structure. Strategies included event-driven, long/short, long-only, distressed/credit and special situations investing. He also has held multiple board directorships across sectors, including in the public markets. Florian holds a BS from City University London, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an MS in Environment and Resources from Stanford University's School of Earth Sciences.
James Morton
Chairman
James has over 45 years experience in financial services, and +30 in portfolio management. He has managed or co-managed the Strategy for over 20 years. He had responsibility for Mackenzie Cundill Recovery from 1998 to 2018. The Recovery Fund won Morningstar Global Fund of the year in 2003 and 2005, and the Morningstar Canadian Investment Award for Best Global Small/Mid cap Fund for 2010. It also won the Lipper Global Small/Mid Cap Fund of the year in 2009 and 2010. James has been awarded two gold medals for excellent fund management in Asian Equities by Sauren Fund Manager Ratings in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 and the Golden Award for Equity Emerging Markets in 2018. His previous employment includes Bain & Co, Arthur Young, Citicorp and Samuel Montagu. He holds an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, an MA from Stanford Food Research Institute and a Law Degree from Cambridge University. James edited The Financial Times “Global Guide to Investing”, and wrote “Investing With The Grand Masters” a Pitman/FT publication, “Investing with Young Guns“ a Pearson/FT publication, and “Prince Charles Breaking the Cycle” Ebury Press. He has been a guest commentator on CNBC, PBS, Bloomberg, London News Radio, Sky and business radio stations in the US.
Lim Thiam Kon, CFA

Prior to joining SLAM, Thiam Kon was a Partner at Hansabay Pte Ltd which he joined in November 2011 as Senior Fund Manager. At Hansabay Pte Ltd Thiam Kon focused on research, portfolio management and trading. Thiam Kon started his career with ING Investment Management where he participated in the investment functions of portfolio analysis and central dealing, and business functions of marketing and operations. Before joining Hansabay, he spent more than six years at Pheim Asset Management (PAM), managing Asia ex Japan and dedicated Asian country portfolios, whilst providing specialist coverage for several Asian markets. Thiam Kon is currently a director of CityClinic Asia Investments Pte Ltd. Thiam Kon graduated with a Bachelor of Business (Banking and Finance), from Nanyang Technological University. Thiam Kon is a CFA charter holder.
Ng Kian Tat, CFA
Partner, Portfolio Manager
Kian Tat is an Associate Portfolio Manager at SLAM. He joined in 2012 after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Singapore Management University (SMU) with a degree in Bachelor of Business Management, majoring in Finance. He was the industrials sector head in the SMU Student Managed Investment Fund. His team won the SMU CFA Global Investment Research Challenge in 2010 and was the champion in the National Next Fund Manager 2011. Kian Tat is a CFA charter holder.
Hannah Le
Investment Analyst and Assistant PM
Hannah is an investment analyst with a particular focus on the Southeast Asian portfolio where she assists portfolio management. Prior to joining SLAM, Hannah was an investment analyst at Hansabay Pte Ltd in a similar role. Hannah is a native Vietnamese speaker and moved to Singapore on an A*Star scholarship for her A- levels. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Singapore Management University (SMU) and also studied at York University in Canada. Prior to Hansabay Pte Ltd she gained work experience in mergers & acquisitions with Pickering Pacific and with PWC's financial services practice. Hannah is a Level 3 CFA candidate.
Edison Wong Jia An
Investment Analyst (ESG)
Edison joined SLAM in August 2021 as an analyst focusing on ESG issues. Prior to joining SLAM, Edison worked as a Junior Investment Analyst with Lauro Asset Management where he performed fundamental research on large cap equities and conducted ESG reviews of the portfolio and designed the ESG investing process. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Singapore Management University (SMU) in 2020 with a degree in Finance and Data Analytics. He clinched the champion title in the 2019 SGX-NUS Stock Pitch Competition.
